Spotting greenwashing through digital learning
Green Guard builds a critical understanding of environmental claims and helps people tell trustworthy information from misleading messages. The project produced EcoTruth101, a multilingual eLearning course that introduces greenwashing through educational content and knowledge checks. The course is a basis for better-informed everyday decisions and for further educational work.

GreenGuard – Mobilizing Digital Solutions for Genuine Environmental Progress empowers young people and youth workers to recognise greenwashing: misleading claims about environmental sustainability. The project combines non-formal education, digital tools, and international cooperation to support informed decisions and responsible environmental action. More about the project
Research conducted in Portugal, Italy, Germany, and Croatia forms the basis of the Greenwashing Index publication, which examines specific cases and young people’s experiences. Its findings support the development of guidelines for recognising greenwashing and adopting more sustainable practices in everyday life and organisational work. Project research
The digital platform brings together educational materials, podcasts, and the free online course EcoTruth 101 – Decoding Greenwashing. These resources help users develop critical thinking, understand misleading marketing messages, and assess the credibility of environmental claims. Project platform
The Green Guard mobile app also enables young people, educators, and organisations to share posts and experiences, connect, and coordinate joint activities. In this way, the project links learning with practical action and supports an international community committed to genuine sustainability. Mobile app
