Producing the non-formal curriculum
In March the Open University AMC Nova Gradiška signed the contract for delivering the project “Developing innovative methods of learning to use smart tachographs in order to strengthen the digitalisation and decarbonisation of transport”, funded under the Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027 / KA2. The project partners are Pannonia Consulting d.o.o. from Zagreb and Prometni Center Blisk d.o.o. from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Producing the non-formal curriculum for the vocational education and training of the target group, professional drivers and the staff of transport companies, is one of the key activities carried out within the project. Since the non-formal curriculum is conceived as an important project output, a precondition for the successful implementation of everything that follows, the largest part of the project so far has been given over to producing it. With an emphasis on using the new generation of tachographs, the curriculum comprises four modules: theoretical foundations, technical foundations, practical exercises and eco-driving, and combines guided learning in the form of theoretical teaching with work-based learning and independent study.
The curriculum aims to increase the number of vocationally trained professional drivers able to use digital and smart tachographs to meet their obligations to record and store data about their working activities. It will also bring the vocational education and training practices for the target group in Croatia and Slovenia into line with each other and harmonise them with European legislation. In the long term this creates a basis for exchanging knowledge and good practice with other countries in the Western Balkans as well.
The project is co-financed by the European Union and delivered under the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2: Small-scale partnerships.
