The aims of the project
In March the Open University AMC Nova Gradiška signed the contract for delivering the project “Developing innovative methods of learning to use smart tachographs in order to strengthen the digitalisation and decarbonisation of transport”, funded under the Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027 / KA2.
The project partners are Pannonia Consulting d.o.o. from Zagreb and Prometni Center Blisk d.o.o. from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The project was prompted by the introduction of second-generation smart tachographs over the coming years. Smart tachographs will automatically record every crossing of a national border within EU countries, and every change in axle load, that is, the loading and unloading of goods from a vehicle. The aim is better and more reliable control of cabotage carried out within each individual EU member state. The new model of tachograph brings new knowledge with it, so professional drivers need to be properly prepared for driving with this kind of tachograph.
Through the project we want to strengthen the delivery capacity of the two participating transport sector organisations for working with digital and smart tachographs in the vocational training of professional drivers and the staff of transport companies, bring the practices of using digital and smart tachographs into line with the EU legislative framework, research existing and develop new vocational training models for professional drivers based on a non-formal curriculum, and introduce the target group to sustainable and innovative forms of eco-driving covering decarbonisation, reduced fuel consumption and economical driving, which will directly help reduce air pollution and improve the condition of roads, buildings and other infrastructure.
