Pannonia Consulting in Santiago: knowledge, cooperation and concrete steps towards sustainable lighting

From 12 to 18 January 2026 the team of Pannonia Consulting d.o.o. took part in an international pilot training within the VET EcoLume project, held in Santiago de Chile. Together with partners from Europe and Latin America we worked on new approaches to vocational education for sustainable lighting and the reduction of light pollution. The project is co-funded by the European Union and is an important step in connecting education, energy and environmental protection.

Through expert lectures, discussion and joint analysis we looked at how artificial light affects energy efficiency, city systems and natural ecosystems. Particular attention went to the tools and methods for measuring and analysing light emission, which are essential if solutions are to be sustainable and well founded. For our team it matters especially that what we learn can be put straight to use. A large part of the programme was therefore given to developing educational approaches suited to vocational and adult education. Through interactive workshops and exchange with colleagues from several countries we worked on content that brings the technical subjects of sustainable lighting closer to the people working in the field.

The stay in Santiago also included a key meeting of the international partners, at which, together with organisations from Chile, Germany, Colombia and Estonia, we set out the next steps of the project and aligned our plans for the activities ahead. The level of cooperation, openness and shared vision confirms the strength of the international consortium and how much partnerships of this kind matter for developing good educational solutions.

Taking part in this project is more than training for us: it is a long-term investment in knowledge, cooperation and the development of educational models that answer the real challenges of today. At Pannonia Consulting d.o.o. we believe that projects like this lay the foundations of a sustainable future and strengthen the role of vocational education in the green transition.
