BioCircle Skills – Developing Green Skills for the Circular Bioeconomy
BioCircle Skills connects vocational education and training, sustainable organic waste management, and the principles of the circular bioeconomy. Through the development of practical learning materials, digital resources, and international cooperation, the project empowers VET teachers and learners to apply composting, vermicomposting, and sustainable soil management practices.
About the Project
BioCircle Skills aims to develop green skills and practical knowledge needed for more efficient and sustainable use of organic resources in agriculture and related sectors. The project promotes the circular bioeconomy by introducing approaches that transform organic waste into valuable resources while contributing to sustainable production and improved soil health.
The project includes an analysis of existing educational programmes and emerging skills needs in Norway, Croatia, and Lithuania. Based on curriculum reviews, interviews with teachers, and consultations with employers, the partnership will develop a five-module training programme, a practical handbook for teachers, and four to five short educational videos with subtitles in Croatian, English, Norwegian, and Lithuanian.
All educational materials will be made available through an online repository, ensuring wider accessibility and supporting their integration into vocational education and training. The developed resources will be tested with approximately 45 learners, while nine VET teachers and trainers will participate in a five-day international mobility activity in Croatia, focusing on knowledge exchange and the practical application of the developed methods.
The project contributes to strengthening the connection between vocational education and the needs of the green transition by promoting accessible, practical, and digitally supported learning resources.
