Developing an innovative digital platform within the DRUPWB project
The digital platform developed within the project “Digital Response to Unemployment Problems in Western Balkans” (DRUPWB) offers an innovative solution for unemployed and NEET young people and for vocational education users from Lithuania, Germany, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is available at https://digital-response.eu/. It is conceived as a digital hub, a central place for everyone with an interest in vocational education and training. Education providers, and individuals who want to improve their skills, can find key information there about innovative vocational education programmes. The platform lets providers see how those programmes can be applied and implemented, while offering learners all the information they need about enrolling on the various programmes, making good, targeted education easier to reach.

The platform will integrate STEM-based e-learning, letting users develop relevant skills through modular curricula matched to the labour market. It will offer four online courses, developed from the four-module educational curriculum. These courses are meant for end users: individuals who want to acquire knowledge and skills in the specific areas the curriculum covers, namely virtual assistants, programmers (basic level), self-employment, and starting and running a small business. The courses will build on the materials and approaches set out in the curriculum but will be adapted to an online environment, focused on giving learners knowledge and skills in each of the four areas the course covers.
The project, supported by the European Union, involves cooperation between a range of private and public stakeholders, which improves the link between the education sector and the needs of the labour market. Through an approach based on the recommendations of the European Training Foundation and on an analysis of the current situation in the region, the platform answers the challenge of high youth unemployment.
