The REVIVER project: a pioneer of regenerative agriculture and vocational education
The REVIVER project, short for “Regenerative Agriculture for Vocational Education EU + Africa”, is a pioneering initiative directed at transforming farming practice and vocational education across Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. An Erasmus+ project focused on capacity building in vocational education and training, REVIVER embodies the spirit of international cooperation and educational innovation. The 24-month project began on 1 December 2023 and runs until 30 November 2025.
REVIVER was conceived to create a dynamic educational programme with an emphasis on regenerative agriculture and environmental sustainability. Bringing together six organisations from Europe and sub-Saharan Africa, the project aims to develop a vocational curriculum adapted to the distinct geographical and climatic conditions of these regions. The ultimate aim is a shift from traditional to regenerative farming practices, improving soil quality, food security and resilience to climate change.
1. International exchange of knowledge: REVIVER acts as a bridge between European expertise in regenerative agriculture and the needs of sub-Saharan Africa. This exchange of knowledge is vital, particularly in regions where regenerative practices are needed most.
2. Developing a vocational curriculum: the project sets out to modernise agricultural education and align it with regional needs. By strengthening vocational education and training (VET) services in the six participating countries, REVIVER makes sure the curriculum is both relevant and effective.
3. A link to the labour market: one of REVIVER’s core aims is to improve employability and entrepreneurial opportunity in the agricultural sector. By building new skills relevant to the green economy, the project supports sustainable job creation and economic growth.

It also strengthens vocational education in line with EU strategies, making sure the benefits are long-term and widely shared.
